Happy Holidays !!

Well...after a near three months hiatus...I'm back online baby.

As ol Uncle Scrooge sits here listening to some Xmas Boney M music....I thought I would get one last one in here during Christmas Eve in Korea... kind of feeling like any other day...not really like Chritmas ;-)
So, here's wishing everyone a very happy holiday season to you and yours.
I am sad that I couldn't be back "home" in NS with Tara-Lynn, kids and family.
It certainly would make it feel a little more like Christmas !! ha TL

So as I gear up to release somewhat more frequent updates from the land of the morning calm...(Korea's motto) yah right!!! what with the carrot trucks adverstising their wares, circling the neighborhood, blaring with speakers mounted to trucks at 7 am!!

This entry will update those faithful viewers with a variety of photos taken over the past few months including my trip to Japan, Sweet potato picking with the kids and a Korean wedding, bubble and smoke machine and all.

So, as it were with this post, one of my first New Year's resolution is already checked off. Now onto the show. God bless and shout out to TL and her kind words last blog...thanks sis!!

Back to Japan...and a mysterious Kyoto temple rests peacefully at dusk.

Being purified by the holy trickling waters of Kyomizudera.

Contemplating on Kyoto's famed "Path of Enlightenment". If I was enlightened before coming, I would have known not to cart this umbrella around the whole day sans rain.

Practicing my fireball throwing technique like this funky gold sculpture...I AM in Japan after all.

Ahh the memories...back at the Reggae bar in Osaka!

My traveling mates Nick and Kim, getting acquainted to Nobu...the owner.. We had some good laughs going over old times and the crazy happenings in this very spot, even though my Japanese was a little rusty. Reminded me though...you really can never go back...things change.

I used to love coming out to Nara on a Sunday afternoon, so am back here to check out Todaiji, the biggest wooden structure to be found on the planet. Luckily no termites in ol J-pan!

Lighting some incense for good fortune from the Gods, in the only temple in the middle of Osaka...serenity surrounded by the constant hustle of Osakans...bring me a wife!! ha

Nick, Kim and I spend our last night in Japan circling the Osaka night skyline in Tempozan Giant Ferriswheel...you remember doing that together Mom, right?! "Oh, Trev, I don't know...I'm scarrrrred"

Is my head always in the clouds? Back in Busan, Glen,Claire and I enjoy the panoramic view afforded by taking a cable car up to Mt Geumgang...nice view as the leaves change.

Pickin taters with the dear little children...digging halted to a stop when one kid unearthed an unfortunate hibernating frog. It croaked. ha

One of the Korean Staff, Jessica, invited us to her wedding. She looked beautiful..although the custom of parading ALL the wedding guests into a side room to view her like a prize pig for all to see seemed a little strange.

Dressed up for the festivities...wedding's done..let's eat at the Outback Steakhouse...now thats MY kinda Korean food!

See ya nexy year y'all!!

Hi Trevor, I must say you look like quite a young, dashing lad in your new pictures. Very fit and handsome! Perhaps you could share some of your secrets with Dave (on the 'fit' part, of course). We're getting ready for Christmas (9am, Christmas Eve here - Dave's playing percussion at church this am). I'm getting a break from Louis as he jumps like a wild man in his jolly jumper. His Dad has been giving him a daily countdown to Christmas every morning when he gets him out of bed ("One more day 'til Christmas Louis!"). I've never seen Dave so excited about Christmas. You'll have to check his e-snips for pics of the boys on Christmas day ... I'll be the one TAKING all the pictures! We're thinking of you and hope you feel some Christmas spirit over on the other side of the world...joyeux noel et bonne année!
Love, Sue and Lou

Hi Trev:

It is a Christmas miracle...Uncle Trev is back online. Great to see your pictures of all of the adventures!

We tried to call you his morning, but couldn't get past the crazy Korean woman on the machine...will try again tomorrow!

We just had Angela, Scott and Amy for brunch, and it was nice.

Amy gave Matthew the Clue Jr.game...remember how I ALWAYS used to beat you at Clue? Well, the instructions only came in French, so Matthew wants you to fly in to decipher them for us.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow as you always are so good at handing out the gifts. "Oh, ANOTHER one for the children...not many for the poor Uncle."

Miss you and love you!
Hope you will be home for the holidays next year.

Love,
Your SIS!

Hey Trevor....thanks for sending your Greetings and for the pictues. It was great to hear of all that you are doing. You write a pretty good "letter". :-) I thought Dana was good....I think she has some competition. :-)
Dana and Chris will be wrapping up their time in Seoul soon...only a few more weeks...they are starting to pack up to do some travelling before coming back to the "True North Strong and Free". We will see them sometime in May...looking forward to that. You must give them a shout.
How is the Korean winter treating you? I guess it is just that much more warmer where you are than Seoul. We had a somewhat unusual Christmas in Canada and just got back two days ago. There was NO snow!!!! It was just WRONG ! You gotta have snow for Christmas. Apparently they are NOW getting some and I expect they will get more before spring arrives but atleast it will have made winter a bit shorter. Mallory was disappointed not to get sledding...and she took a friend with her and she had never seen snow before. A couple days there was a "skiff" of snow and they got skating two or three times so they were satisfied I guess...not much else you can do. My brother brought over his four-wheeler and they took advantage of the open fields on Grandpa's farm. :-) As my Mom said..."They sure shook the dust off of the four wheeler!" :-)
Well, I hope this finds you in good health...it sounds like you are having a great time. Continue to enjoy your spicy chicken...believe me...I was glad to hit the odd MacDonalds or Outback too!!!! Whew! :-)
Take care Trevor.
